La Société tunisienne d’électricité et de gaz (STEG) a démenti catégoriquement les informations relayées sur plusieurs pages des réseaux sociaux, faisant état d’une coupure générale de courant programmée dans l’ensemble des régions du pays, samedi 25 juillet, en raison de travaux de maintenance sur le réseau.
La STEG a affirmé que cette annonce, largement diffusée, est totalement dénuée de fondement.
La société a appellé l’ensemble de ses clients ainsi que les médias à ne se fier qu’aux communiqués publiés exclusivement sur son site officiel et ses pages officielles sur les réseaux sociaux, et les invite à ne pas céder aux rumeurs ni à les relayer.
Cette mise au point intervient dans un contexte particulièrement tendu pour le réseau électrique national. Depuis plusieurs jours, la Tunisie traverse une canicule persistante, avec des températures extrêmes qui exercent une forte pression sur le réseau électrique. C’est précisément ce climat de coupures répétées, bien que localisées et temporaires, qui semble avoir nourri la rumeur d’un « black-out » total programmé pour le week-end. Mais la STEG tient à clarifier que ces mesures, bien réelles, n’ont jamais eu vocation à couvrir l’intégralité du territoire de manière simultanée et continue, contrairement à ce qui circule actuellement en ligne.
