Les unités de la Protection civile et de la Direction générale des forêts, appuyées par l’Armée de l’air, sont parvenues à maîtriser totalement, ce lundi 13 juillet 2026, l’incendie qui s’était déclaré au mont Chahma, dans la délégation de Zaghouan, au terme de plus de 40 heures d’interventions ininterrompues.
Selon les autorités régionales, les équipes poursuivent actuellement les opérations de refroidissement et de surveillance des différents foyers afin de prévenir toute reprise des flammes, dans un contexte marqué par des températures élevées et un relief particulièrement accidenté.
Mont Chahma à Zaghouan : le feu maîtrisé, la vigilance reste de mise
Le dispositif de lutte contre l’incendie a mobilisé d’importants moyens humains et matériels, avec la participation de 23 camions-citernes et d’environ 150 officiers et agents issus de plusieurs corps d’intervention. Des moyens aériens, notamment des hélicoptères et des avions militaires, ont également été déployés et ont joué un rôle déterminant dans le confinement du feu et la protection des zones d’habitation voisines.
L’incendie a causé d’importants dégâts dans des superficies couvertes de pins d’Alep ainsi que dans des vergers. Les opérations d’évaluation des pertes se poursuivent, tandis que des équipes restent mobilisées sur le terrain pour assurer la surveillance du site et intervenir rapidement en cas de reprise du feu.
