L’ambassadeur d’Italie à Tunis, Alessandro Prunas, était l’invité de l’émission Yawm Saïd sur Radio nationale, ce mercredi 15 juillet 2026. L’occasion pour le diplomate de dresser un bilan chiffré des relations économiques entre les deux pays.
Selon ses déclarations, le volume des échanges commerciaux bilatéraux s’élève désormais à 6,5 milliards d’euros, un niveau qui a justifié l’organisation du Forum économique tuniso-italien en juin dernier. Sur le plan des investissements, près d’un millier d’entreprises italiennes sont actuellement implantées en Tunisie, générant environ 100 000 emplois directs. L’année 2025 a d’ailleurs été marquée par la création de 3 000 postes supplémentaires.
Parmi les projets structurants évoqués par Alessandro Prunas, le projet ELMED – interconnexion électrique entre les deux rives de la Méditerranée – occupe une place centrale. Les contrats de réalisation ont été attribués en juin 2026, et l’ambassadeur s’est dit confiant quant à une mise en service d’ici la fin de l’année 2028. Cette infrastructure, a-t-il souligné, devrait faire de la Tunisie et de l’Italie un véritable pont énergétique entre l’Europe et l’Afrique, tout en renforçant la sécurité énergétique de la Tunisie.
