\n\tLe Maghreb Economic Forum (MEF) est le premier think tank maghrébin. Il s’agit d’une organisation non gouvernementale ou un laboratoire d’idées autour notamment de l’intégration régionale. C’est un think tank qui opère spécialement à l’étranger, car selon M. Kamel Lazaar, président-fondateur du MEF, la législation tunisienne ne permet pas actuellement  l’implantation de l’organisation en Tunisie. Donc, les organisateurs étaient obligés de s’implanter à l’étranger et de créer une simple représentation en Tunisie. Lors de sa première conférence en Tunisie, le MEF a affiché ses ambitions intermaghrébines. Sur le thème «Le Maghreb : un moteur pour la création d’emplois ?» le MEF a organisé une table ronde réunissant une pléiade d’hommes d’affaires, d’économistes venant du Maghreb et d’experts internationaux représentant la Banque africaine de développement (BAD), le Fonds monétaire international (FMI), la Banque mondiale et l’Union européenne. L’urgence de la situation économique de la Tunisie ainsi que du Maghreb nous impose d’être réactifs par rapport à ce qui se passe. Sachant que le non Maghreb nous coûte 2% de croissance, le MEF a trouvé nécessaire de se pencher sur «la question des gains potentiels de l’intégration économique maghrébine en termes de création d’emplois». Le premier panel portant sur les «Enjeux et obstacles de l’intégration maghrébine» a été présidé par M. Mustapha Kamel Nabli, ancien gouverneur de la Banque centrale de Tunisie. Le deuxième panel ayant pour thème «L’intégration comme vecteur d’attractivité des IDE dans le Maghreb» a été présidé par Mme Wided Bouchamaoui, présidente de l’UTICA. M. Jaime de Melo (Université de Genève) a présidé le troisième panel, sur «Intégration maghrébine : danger pour l’emploi ?» M. Kamel Lazaar, homme d’affaires tunisien résident à l’étranger et père fondateur de ce laboratoire d’idées, a annoncé que cette première table ronde avait permis d’aboutir à des réflexions qui méritent d’être développées. «Nous allons concentrer nos efforts sur quatre initiatives principales ayant pour objectif l’intégration maghrébine. L’une des ces initiatives concernera le secteur de l’énergie renouvelable, pouvant jouer un rôle déterminant dans l’économie intermaghrébine» a-t-il ajouté. Le secteur de l’huile d’olive est un levier de développement et notamment de création d’emplois en Tunisie et au Maghreb. L’Afrique du Nord présente un grand potentiel à condition que le secteur soit restructuré. Le MEF pourrait se pencher sur ce sujet et générer des mesures pour promouvoir ce secteur. M. Lazaar a annoncé la tenue d’un colloque international en juillet 2013 «dont l’ambition sera d’apporter des réponses et des solutions concrètes à la problématique des gains de l’intégration économique en termes de création d’emplois». Il a rappelé que le MEF est un groupe de réflexion basé sur un capital humain compétent et surtout apolitique visant l’intérêt du Maghreb.\n<\/p>\n
