Dans une d\u00e9claration accord\u00e9e ce jeudi \u00e0 R\u00e9alit\u00e9s Online, l’ing\u00e9nieur et expert en ressources en eau Mohamed Salah Gla\u00efed est revenu sur l’incident technique survenu mercredi au barrage du Mell\u00e8gue. Au cours d’une op\u00e9ration de transfert d’eau routini\u00e8re \u2014 annonc\u00e9e deux jours auparavant et portant sur environ 100 000 m\u00b3 par jour \u2014 une d\u00e9faillance inattendue s’est produite en fin d’op\u00e9ration : l’une des trois vannes de vidange sup\u00e9rieures s’est retrouv\u00e9e bloqu\u00e9e en position ouverte, rendant toute fermeture impossible. Des \u00e9quipes sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es ont aussit\u00f4t \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9p\u00each\u00e9es sur place afin d’\u00e9valuer la situation et d’engager les op\u00e9rations de r\u00e9paration n\u00e9cessaires.
\n<\/span>Face \u00e0 ce dysfonctionnement, les autorit\u00e9s comp\u00e9tentes ont imm\u00e9diatement \u00e9mis deux alertes \u00e0 l’intention des agriculteurs et des riverains \u00e9tablis le long des berges de l’oued Mell\u00e8gue : retirer sans d\u00e9lai tout \u00e9quipement de pompage install\u00e9 en bordure du cours d’eau, et prendre toutes les pr\u00e9cautions requises pour mettre le b\u00e9tail \u00e0 l’abri d’une \u00e9ventuelle mont\u00e9e des eaux.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sur la question de la p\u00e9rennit\u00e9 de l’ouvrage, l’expert a rappel\u00e9 que le barrage du Mell\u00e8gue, qui d\u00e9passe les soixante-dix ans d’existence, aurait vraisemblablement atteint la fin de sa dur\u00e9e de vie th\u00e9orique. Il sera prochainement remplac\u00e9 par le barrage du Mell\u00e8gue Sup\u00e9rieur, dont les travaux affichent un taux d’avancement de 98 %. La mise en eau de ce nouvel ouvrage est attendue d\u00e8s l’automne prochain.
\n<\/span>Du point de vue des ressources hydriques, Gla\u00efed a tenu \u00e0 rassurer : aucun volume d’eau ne sera perdu. Les eaux rel\u00e2ch\u00e9es s’acheminent naturellement vers le barrage de Sidi Salem, dont la capacit\u00e9 de stockage permet d’absorber ais\u00e9ment plusieurs centaines de millions de m\u00e8tres cubes suppl\u00e9mentaires \u2014 soit plus de 200 millions de m\u00b3 additionnels. Si la situation demeure pr\u00e9occupante sur le plan technique, elle reste donc pleinement ma\u00eetris\u00e9e sur le plan hydrique.
\n<\/span>L’expert a par ailleurs insist\u00e9 sur le r\u00f4le strat\u00e9gique que continuera de jouer le barrage du Mell\u00e8gue, m\u00eame apr\u00e8s la mise en service de son successeur : \u00ab Ce barrage ne sera pas mis hors service pour autant. Son entretien demeure indispensable et ses \u00e9quipements doivent \u00eatre maintenus en parfait \u00e9tat de fonctionnement, car il est appel\u00e9 \u00e0 jouer un r\u00f4le majeur en tant que point de transit au c\u0153ur de l’interconnexion hydraulique Beni Mtir \u2013 Bouhertma \u2013 Sidi Salem. \u00bb
\n<\/span>Concluant sur une note \u00e0 la fois rassurante et vigilante, Gla\u00efed a soulign\u00e9 que la situation pour cette ann\u00e9e reste sous contr\u00f4le, tout en appelant \u00e0 poursuivre imp\u00e9rativement les efforts de sensibilisation \u00e0 une gestion rationnelle de l’eau. Il a rappel\u00e9 \u00e0 ce titre que le secteur agricole irrigu\u00e9 demeure le premier consommateur d’eau du pays, avec une part de 78 % de la consommation totale selon les derniers rapports \u2014 un chiffre dont la r\u00e9duction s’impose d\u00e9sormais comme une priorit\u00e9 incontournable.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
